St Patrick’s Church, Bampton Grange

St. Patrick’s is part of the High Westmorland group of churches that includes Shap, Orton, Tebay and Ravenstonedale as well as Bampton. Alun Hurd is the vicar for the group and is based at the Vicarage at St. Michael’s, Shap. If you need directions to the church, have a look on our A Church Near You entry.

Services are advertised in the newsletter and on the church noticeboard but, from September 2019, each month generally follow the pattern:

  • 1st Sunday 10am Holy Communion
  • 2nd Sunday 10am Cafe Church
  • 3rd Sunday 6pm Holy Communion
  • 4th Sunday 10am Non-Eucharist service

If there is a 5th Sunday in the month then there is a Joint Service either at Shap or Bampton at 10.30am.

Cafe Church is a recent innovation and is an informal service in the Church Hall, starting with coffee and cake. There is usually a different theme chosen for each of these services.

Throughout the year there is a Worship group that meets regularly and plans services and activities such as Advent and Lent Studies, Lent Lunches, Easter and Christmas celebrations.

The Parochial Church Council is responsible for maintaining the church, cemetery and graveyard and welcomes any help from the local community.
